How to Clean and Deodourise your Mattress
This is a cleansing ritual our team of professionals recommends you perform at least 3-4 times a year. Because lots of grime works its way into the fibres of your mattress, it attracts bacteria and dust mites which can disrupt a good night’s sleep. That is why you should clean and deodourise your mattress at least once every 3-4 months. If you have pets or children, we advise you do this once every 2-3 months.
Here is a list of what you will need to freshen up your mattress:
- Bicarbonate of Soda;
- Essential Oils (optional).
Now that you have gathered your equipment, let us get to business. Here are our professional tips on how to maintain mattress hygiene:
- First, strip off the covers on your bed and hoover the top side of your mattress.
- Now, get your bicarbonate of soda and sprinkle a generous amount over the surface of your mattress.
It is a good idea to leave this to sit for a good 30 minutes to an hour. This will give your dry compound time to absorb as much dirt as possible.
- And finally, vacuum up all of the soda bicarb. After you have completed this, you could sprinkle 10-20 drops of your favourite essential oils to add a nice scent. Lavender is a good choice for a peaceful sleep.
